Windows System Error "There is a IP address Conflict......

This thing has been popping up the last few days...

There is no IP address conflict....

Anybody get this before or have any info on it?

I am searching MS knowledge base know...

Try using a more restrictive subnet mask like 255.255.255.248 or something depending on how many nodes that are on your network.

we're on a dsl network, that pops up when someone else is using the same ip number as I am

sounds like you have static IP's set.

i rebooted the router , i had issues getting into the routers gui admin , lets see if that had something to do with it.

Is your adaptor overheating? I had that happen to me a while back. Might also help to restart the network.

I got this error when I accidentally set my wireless router to its default settings and my neighbor was signing on and using it as her Internet connection.
