After I had a close call in a helicopter that had engine problems and the fucker started shaking spining and lobbing side to side, hell yeh.

Everytime I fly I think how the heck is all this weight staying airborne.

And after 9/11 you look at everyone now in a different light to see if that have that look in their eyes.

I am little afraid, true.

Traveling by car gives you the illogical feeling that you are in control of things.

i am more aware of flying now. before i never thought to much about the risk associated with flying.
now days, i am more conscience of them. wish i could go back to my "ignorance is bliss" state.
so yea, i am a tad bit apprehensive.

No, I'm not afraid of flying, it's a chance a person takes by choice. Just like getting in your car and driving down the interstate...you don't know if the person beside you is drunk, suicidal, psychotic, has road rage, etc. You take a chance when you fly or cross the street and hope for the best because when it's your time to go, there is nothing you can do about it.

I used to be deathly afraid to fly, and I'm still not crazy about it, but I'm nowhere near as frightened as I used to be.

I am NOW however, deathly afraid to DRIVE.

A buddy of mine years back was skydiving. His main shoot failed and his reserve shoot opened but got tangled. Luckily he landed into a forest filled with huge trees and the branches broke his fall (and most of his bones) but one caught the ropes and he miraculously survived. He had one of the most scarred bodies I've ever seen on someone. He couldn't even remember it afterwards, just waking up in the hospital that week.

You're safer in the skies than you are on the road.

It's ok until you start realizing that at any point during the flight engines could fail and you could just drop from the sky. Other than that, I'm fine with it.

I am uncomfortable flying but not afraid - the thing I hate is the anxiety that comes from turbulance - my worst moment is takeoff - the most strain on the plane at that time - driving is more dangerous I believe - I choose to stay home as much as possible these days - especially living in LA - lots of accidents here - i see one every week in my neighborhood - almost always at intersections.

nope I'm not afraid of flying..

when I was in the Army though I saw a bunch of guys that where scared shit-less about landing... They never had landed in one, jump school they jumped, then in Germany they always jumped until we went 2 Denmark for war games, we landed.

Had to go 2 a stageing area for a few day.

I was laughing my ass off.

Ok you would appreciate these then...

An airline pilot wrote that on this particular flight he had hammered his ship into the runway really hard. The airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the passengers exited, smile, and give them a "Thanks for flying United."He said that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment. Finally everyone had got off, except for an old lady walking with a cane.

She said, "Sonny, mind if I ask you a question?"

"Why no, ma'am," said the pilot. "What is it?"

The little old lady said, "Did we land or were we shot down?"

Actually, the most critique time during a flight is 4 mmins after take off and 8 mins before landing. Turbulence doesnt take down planes normally, unless your crossing the Amazonas or a huuuuge air bag.

However, I've saw people getting really hurted when didnt follow captains instructions on remaining seated, went to thebathroom and zaz! big shake. In those cases, you can not sue as you were warned.

When the engines fail the plane does not just drop out of the sky.
