Lil story about a domain I picked up a while ago...

Ferreo.com - not sure why I got it months ago, I'm sure about one thing though ~ back then it made sense to me.

I recently setup a catch-all email account for the domain, and just recenly I've discovered the weirdest fucking emails from people in french, italian, english... you name it.

All real emails sent to real aliases on my domain.

laurent.gripon@
Francesca.Delsarto@
dave.tucker@
wiebke.klaass@

and so on...

After some research, and reading the email headers, I've realized that I had picked up a typo domain from www.ferrero.com which seems to be some sort of Industrial Services Company in Alba, Italy.

The funniest email yet is about some sort of fuckin' Tik Tak presentation, whose slides I got, too.

Check it out:

Morning Dave, trust you had a good weekend.

Still thinking about ads to show this week.

The long list we talked about was:

Jaffa Cakes - slipped disc

Cadbury ? I suggest the latest Hyenas

Sprite ? Tent

Dr Pepper ? Over Friendly Father

Mini (which we can use to punctuate the reel e.g. the mini jumps over commercial break ad)

Stella ? I suggest Pilot

Kit Kat - librarians

Other suggestions from the agency after I sent a note asking for suggestions.
Black Current Tango ? Ray thingy epic

Land Rover ? Born Free

Pepperami ? earlier stuff

Carling Black Label (from our time on it) - Dambusters

Honda ? Diesel/Change something

John Smiths ? Top Bombing

Rowntrees ? ?what more do you want?

Heinz Salad Cream ? any of the truly revolting ones

John West Salmon ? Bears

Pot Noodle ? Slag of all Snacks

Orange cinema idents ? picture messaging

That?s probably enough challenging commercials?..do you have a moment to highlight the ones you want and I?ll get a reel put together. Depending on what you pick I can possibly get top line Millward Brown or other effectiveness snippets.

On presentation ? I?ve collected a few bits together from other account teams but nothing entirely on the topic. How about you send through the draft of where you were going with it and I?ll have a look and make a contribution?

Hope all is well.

Was the revised Tic Tac presentation any closer in your view?

Will call later with dates for a meeting with Will and Mike (Creative Directors).

Regards

DW
Since it's getting annoying, I'll just cut off the catch-all and let the rest bounce.

Funny nonetheless.

Cheers!

I have many domains like that, and I tell you I could have made millions in stock manipulations with all the covert business email I've gotten.

I used to a very popular bands website ( before they bought it from me ) , and we used to get personal letters to the band . Some of them were classic.

Equinox - it's actually a brand of chocolates - Ferrero Rocher - part of the Nutella family of products, Kinder Surprise - I believe it's Nestle that owns it all too.

No need to explain, I've eaten Nutella, Kinder Ueberraschung and more for as long as I remember.

ferrero.de is fine, but the dot com leads to some other italian company. No idea. Really.

Still fun to follow that stuff.
