When I see questions like this or the recent one with someone asking how to convert a wmv file to avi, I often wonder why someone wants to convert from one final compressed format to another, unless they have no other choice. You get a much better result if you convert the original footage from tape or from dv-avi files with the full resolution it was filmed in to a compressed format like mpeg or wmv for the end users.
