This always amazes me.

Was just looking at a cash programs site and what they offer the affiliate and it seems there is nothing these guys will not do to make life easy and comfortable for them.

75% payout.
10% on referred affiliates.
Stats at all times on yourself and your referred affiliates.
Weekly payouts
Extra rewards for sign ups at certain times
Extra rewards for sign ups over and above the target level.
Free content.
Free pages.
Free hosted Galleries.
Free hosted banners.
Affiliate support.
Plus more things.

I then looked at their sites and understood why they are so desperate to sign up webmasters on a continual basis. Basically they suck. This is from the tours.

The Amateur sites had porn stars in them, well girls that looked like pornstars and the one amateur I saw was rubbish.

The teen sites had girls clearly over 21 and not shot in the teen mold. Putting a 24 year old in pig tails no longer fools anyone.

The Lesbian sites were full of magazine content when the girls were not allowed to touch each other. As was the boy-girl porn sites.

Some of the content on the tours was ours, from www.bargainbasementcontent.com. Content never intended to be for tours or front line converting content and a lot was from people who are supplying even less quality.

The over all effect was that this site is just rehashing old content and throwing traffic at it as fast as it can. They obviously spend a fortune on the traffic and little to nothing on content to convert and retain that traffic.

How much more would they make by using the same marketing skills sending it to sites with fresh and good content?

Obviously the wrong place to post this. I mean the way a site converts and retains your traffic is not nearly as important as going moose hunting.

well, it could be that since you mentioned no names, and only suggested that your customers are wasting their time buying your content, there was nothing left to say

Well I did not want to point a finger at anyone and the content they bought was obviously bought on price. Nothing wrong with that but not much use putting it into tours or using the wrong content that does not fit the niche.

But then WTF do you know about content?

No a lot of people know a lot about content and how to produce it, how to buy it, what it is and what is the difference between flesh and porn.

Just that you are not one of them.

Wellllllllllll..... a site or two of mine have a few pics scattered from your bargain basement content store and you know what? They convert pretty damn good. So it isn't at all about the price of the content you buy but how you deliver it to them. What YOU have to realize is that while WE may have seen that content 9000000000 times, doesn't mean the surfer has. There are a shitload of surfers out there, babe.

If you have the correct delivery of your product, you can sell just about anything to anyone. Take this store we have here locally. They deal in almost nothing else but name brand, overstock from other big stores, to the point where they still have the old price tags from the stores it originated from........ so clearly "bargain basement" right? Well...... THAT store stays packed all the damn time.. and the originating store is like in the next parking lot over and if you see someone in that store, you are damn well seeing something, because there isn't ever anyone in there.

You know why? They get a better deal, it's not as "stuck up" and it's employees don't walk around behind you like you are trying to steal their shit. It's all about how you deliver your product, no matter what the product is, or how much it cost YOU, the seller..... make sense?

So if ya wanna point fingers, point them at me too....... because I use your Bargain Basement content, but I don't deliver it in a big flashy package and my "store" is a friendly one.

As for offering the webmasters everything to come and promote you? Well, a bar was set and to compete, you have to do what you have to do to show the webmasters that you are willing to go the extra mile for their business. Do I always agree with this? Nope, I really don't..... I came from a place that said "Do the work yourself, make your own galleries, and so on." When I started out, there was no such thing as a hosted gallery or anything, about the best you got was free hosting. But somewhere there was another bar set and incoming programs have/had to keep up in order to get the business. And I am fine with this, we work our heads off for our Affiliates. The mindset I have at this point is that I work for my Affiliates, and my Affiliates work for me, we are a TEAM, everything I do is a team effort and my affiliates are part of that team, so if they have a suggestion or a need, then I am damn well going to try and fulfill this need.

Clear it up for you JUST a little?

As always good post Tam.

Yes you have a sprinkling of Bagain Basement content on your sites, but that is the worse you have. In the case I'm talking about it was the best of the tours.

And I'm sure you know 24 year olds with pigtails are not teens.

But I take what you aye about a site not needing to be fancy and should seem friendly to the buyer.

Raising the bar on what you give webmasters is fine, but all the freebies in the world do not convert a single surfer and without that the affiliates are always looking for a new sponsor.

Yup, you have a point there. You can have all the flashy shit you want to have, but the site must ultimately convert, that's true. And my sites do..... even with your ole bargain basement content....... rotfl... I have some sites that have had members since December of last year, and you know why? I give them what I SAY I am giving them. I don't buy this fancy, hegely expensive content and then put that on the tour and put the "bargain" content in the members areas, my members get well more than what they paid for when they get in those members areas.

As far as the 24 yr olds in pigtails being teens? Well, being as I am a 40 yr old woman and have a 20 yr old daughter that I STILL see as a 5 yr old sometimes. It is a bit tricky for me to judge between the teens and 24 yr olds sometimes. I have never been too slick with the whole teen thing, and for my teen site, I had to go outside my own program to gather some people that DO teens to tell me exactly what was teen and what wasn't. I bought some content that was being sold as teens once and I had that on there........ I later found out that they weren't teens at all, but I thought they were because to ME, they looked like teens. lol

With the help of some very good teen promoters, I got it all worked out and am so thankful I did, because I had NO idea that what I had wasn't teens, they looked like it to ME....... LOL

But this isnt exactly a news flash, just another more specific take on a tour that doesnt live up to the members area, or even further, just overall crappy sites that shouldn't have been joined in the first place.

The only redeeming thing possibly about this program is that their tour sucks as much as their members area and so no one will join, no one will get ripped off, so people dont get pissed off and refuse to buy porn online ever again.

Anyway, post a link, more fun that way.

The point of the post was to high light the amount of effort this site owner is putting into getting new affiliates and the little affort he's putting into retaining them by converting their traffic.

It would jst seem to me that if he put a little more effort into what the customers are buying, he might retain more affiliates and better ones. I could never see a good affiliate being persuaded to sign up for these sites, not when you have the likes of Braincash, Lightspeed, Alsscan, Karups, Adult.com and many more out there all deleivering a good product that does convert.

To me it looked like sites from 3/4 years ago when the level what a lot lower.

Whether he pays out is another matter.

Wow... where did this come from..... LOL

And shaving isn't about "knowing better", it's about being HONEST, which I am.... I don't do anything to anyone that I wouldn't want done to me!

rowan, it's cool babe, I never even had a thought that you were talking about me with that post........ I was merely giving my points on the subject at hand from MY side of the fence. lol
