As Quiet says, why would you sell a paysite for 3/6/12 months of profit if you can just run it another 3/6/12 months and save you the trouble.

Hey guys/gals, sorry to but in; this post has got my interest...

My site www.eroticars.com has exclusive content and has never been marketed & has no affiliates, what would you suggest as my next step?
I don't have the time to put into it anymore, should I sell, or get someone to help market it on a profit share?

Shane

Hi DH,

Just curious, is it possible the ccbill/epoch/icbill whatever processors just change the account info, so you will be the new owner, and get the money. I always thought this was not possible, and you had to change all these customers to your own account by mailing them(unless they have a merchant account)

I could be wrong, but it won't hurt to check

Andre

Hi Andre, in this particular situation it would be very easy to switch over the ownership of the site and the payouts.

I can't speak for other situations though.

If the processing is for a company specifically created for a single site, and the company itself is being sold, that shouldn't be a problem.

yeah, that's what I thought

man, selling such an asset for the profit it makes in 3 months... that's just stupid

I would think, if someone is not truly desperate for the instant money, he should only sell it for the price that would allow him to retire and not worry about shit.

nowhere near comparable transactions. the discount rate that you would use for an adult website would be much higher than you would use for insurance businesses.

6 months net earnings would work, with adjustments made if there's exclusive content and looking at some other factors.

Lots of factors involved. If the traffic is primarily type-in, it is worth alot more as it has intrinsic value.

I'd pay $100k.

A. Statistically proven retention. In other words, how long would it make that 18 - 20k with no new traffic.

B. What traffic it brings with it. EG - are you going to continue to get signups without providing traffic yourself? If so, how much, and factored into (A)

C. Content costs.

D. Statistically proven conversion ratios. If you are going to supply traffic, how will it convert based on past provable stats?

IMO, those would be the base factors.
That's a great list of thing to consider. The traffic is really important. If you buy it are you going to need to keep adveritsing spots or have somebody submitting galleries and free sites consistantly to keep the revenue up?

three months revenue not profit.

If your clearing only 10% profit

that 30 months of profit.

if you want to get out of the biz you have no choice but to sell because of the very stupid way Visa/MC calculate chargeback ratios..

why sell it? lease it? retain ownership and have someone else do all the dirty work and take a little cash off the top for yourself?

I got $20 bucks and a case of Heiniken, but only if you're serious.

Hope you're doing well bud. Are you going to WA in Santa Monica? Hope to see you all there.
