Bill imposes hefty 'spyware' fines

Companies and others that secretly install "spyware" programs on people's computers to quietly monitor their Internet activities would face hefty federal fines under a bill the House passed Tuesday

I think that is a good idea... Don't like people or programs monitoring my porn surfing without me knowing...

God save the newbies.

Everytime I use a friends computer they must have 20+ spyware TSR's running. This will be nice for the casual computer user so there computer isn't brought to an inudated state of spyware.
