I agree. Unfortunately, those lines are crossed sometimes by more than just trolls.

One of the most disturbing things on GFY for me isn't the 'shock' posts. It's the degradation of women. Obviously, being in the biz, I don't think being filmed having sex is degrading to women.

But I see posts from webmasters who do - yet here they are. The 'women who do porn are stupid whores - but I'm cool, cuz I'm pimpin' em. Werd.'

I've always hated that crap.

but it's the respected people that answer the trolls that are the real problem.. those are the posts these trolls live for

Tia - I do agree regarding the trolls - wholeheartedly. But the bottom line is, as long as you can post anything and get away with it (eg - not get booted from the board), the trolls are here to stay.

Eros - you're right. I think it comes down to a high school mentality. Some people simply have to fit in - and if being a Thug from the suburbs is it - that's what they'll do.

On any day and at any time less than 30% of the posts on the first page are worth reading.

I originally came to this board because it was a place to network - then I came back back because it seemed like a good place to pick up work for my partner's business - now we are picking up thousands of dollars worth of work every month from big people in this industry who never come near GFY.

I think quiet was more aware than many of us when he said quite a while ago that this was not a place he came to for business.

We can't all be winners.

When I first got here, it was drastically differant than what I was told it was supposed to be like but I stuck it out to observe. Since I have been here people have done a wonderful job of showing me who is professional and who is not. I have compiled a list of those who carry themselves with dignity and have respect for other people and they receive word of what I am doing and have first dibs on what is going on and it seems they have done the same for me. (this is not to mean if you have not heard of or from me I do not think you are serious or worthy, just have not gotten to you yet)

I treat this board like highschool. I just cruise the halls watching people make fools of themselves and also people grow up and do what they need to do. I see alot of the same mentalites, a lot of the same bullshit attempts at being cool and the best part is watching a lot of cool people egg these guys on like they are on the inside track only to let them know they have been playing themselves.

If we could get everyone who really wanted to do business here to kinda just let the trolls and drama queens play themselves out everything would be ok. What do you have to lose? Takes two to argue.....
