So how is CCBill doing these days?

2003 - globill, gone
2004 - ibill, eventually

That leaves ccbill... and all my eggs are in their basket.

So, how are they doing these days?

heh... right from forbes:

"It turns out Merrick, which says it "believes in bettering the community in which it operates," knows a thing or two about porn. The company is already processing credit cards for CCBill, a big aggregator like iBill of credit card purchases for Internet porn. CCBill handles sites that include Soundpunishment.com, GothicSluts.com, and Threepillows.com. "

Yeah, let's hear vette's opinion.

I don't give a fuck about support, the question is will Merrick get pressured into pulling out.

I'm interested in any (reliable) views on this. We've been with CCBill for many years, and I think they're the stablest IPSP solution provider out there (just my opinion), but like others, I have concerns re: Merrick.

NOTE - this isn't a 'sky is falling' post from me. I just trust CCBill to give open and honest assessments, so I'm asking as well.

Unfortunately I still push(ed) a handful of iBill sites with webmasters that are too lazy to switch to CCBill, but were converting reasonably enough not to dump up until this point.

If iBill fucking up processing and payouts to this degree isn't reason enough to never send them another signup, look at the attention they have brought to this industry's banking relationships.

We used IBill briefly very early on (about 6 years ago). I had to drop them because it was too difficult getting ahold of support.

I can't say what their current state of affairs on support is (obviously), as that's pretty old information.

I'm pulling for them however, for the simple reason that losing another processor would be bad news on many levels. One being that it shows it can be done - which will encourage those who want to get rid of Adult on the web.

A stable processor needs to be forward-thinking, have the necessary contracts and contingencies to ensure the long-term success of both itself and its clientele base. That said, CCBill maintains strong and well-established relationships with all of our acquiring banks.

With respect to the turbulence that currently seems to be affecting the processing stable, we want to emphasize that the faltering of any processor is unfortunate and weakens the industry. We wish all the best
