				how to lay hardwood flooring - interesting idea....
			 ok, you can lay it horrizental or vertical stripes - but what about diagonal? anyone ever sceen this in a house? Would this be cool and look neet or just stupid?

				 | Think about the work which would go into that! You'd not only be cutting at the ends but also shaping the boards as well at the ends. I guess it would be pretty difficult in the corners but outwith that maybe pretty simple. |

 As for time... its not bad... the cutting is not the issues as much as lining up and fitting the thung and groove. Thats a bit more a hassle, but not bad. I did it in a 24x18 room and it looked awesome. I did a frame around the walls (about 8 inches) of just straight boards then diagonaled the main area.. Turned out great and didnt take much more time or hassle then laying it staight. However, its all about the finsh.

				 | I've seen it done a few times, more work but looks great. I wouldn't plan on doing it yourself unless you're REAL handy. Oh and use real wood not that laminate crap unless you get lots of changes in humidity in your house/climate. The parquet look (12x12) also has quite a distinctive look. |

				 | Yep.. thats exactly what i did with the boarder... you can do a different stain on the boarder also to set it apart.  Thats a nice floor.
