:mad Hurricane / Tropical Storm JEANNE wuz here last night ... (PICS)

Well, woke up this morning and stepped out of bed onto soaking wet carpet Our entire downstairs was flooded last night about 3 maybe 4 inches. Doesn't sound like a lot, but enough to ruin floors and some other things.

My concrete driveway is currently a river as well .

Taking pics for Insurance so I thought I'd share a few before I decide to stop staring at the mess and just climb back into bed

Ivy

Here is part of the driveway

and here's a shot at the back door to show how high the water came up and on into the house

Wind knocked down the basketball goal which is filled with sand, and water washed up all this mess

Yep...you better walk outside. We still have roads under water in my neighborhood. Haven't wandered any further yet

where are you from? for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, the hurricane hit my city directly. The 2 storms hit within 2 miles of each other, this is a record, never has happened before, and probably never will.

I think you should take a nap too. Not sure why, but I'm the type when crap like that happens....I need a nap. I think my brain "deals with it" when I'm sleeping and I feel much better and am ready to tackle things afterwards.

yeah, we got winds up to 120MPH , it was stronger than Frances, but luckily moved by faster..

Frances stuck around 2 days, ridiculous.
Over 2 million people in my area have no power, it may take up to 3 weeks to restore.

Sorry to hear about this Ivy. I still don't know how I've gotten so lucky down here on miami beach but my thoughts and prayers go out to all those less fortunate.

Damn Ivy. that Sucks

I know what you are going thru. I had a flood too in my basement few years ago and yes it is a real mess..

Especially in the basement, where we all put stuff and stuff and stuff...

Good luck with it Ivy. I hope you are insured against that ...

there is something to be said for raised foundations over concrete slabs.

I would NEVER buy a house that had a concrete slab foundation. Water being just one of the many

good luck
