THIS IS PREFACE TO THIS THREAD

This dispute has been hashed out everywhere over the past week.

I am glad to say that we have resolved it right here on GFY today. And both parties are happy and I can recommend doing business with either party.

Now on with the thread:

I am ready to call a winner in this battle.

There's blood in the streets. I think this now is a losing battle for both parties.

HERE IS MY SOLUTION:

Here's how I would handle it if an intermediary said they were promised a 10% referral fee and my staff person denied it. I would agree to pay the 10% IF the traffic source agreed to send a matching # of signups (and the 10% would be paid on all the old and new signups).

If the intermediary doesn't have that much control over their client, then fine, no dice and I declare the sponsor the winner. If the intermediary says no on grounds of 'principle', then I would remind her that you have agreed to come off of your principles and should meet you half way (and I again declare the sponsor the winner if the intermediary is mired in principle).

If the sponsor is unwilling to make this offer, then I declare the intermediary the winner (smutcash, it's a win-win and if you can't profit from the arrangement, then just raise the recurring on their signups only by $10)

Lensman, that sounds like a very fair way to settle this.
Also 12clicks is OH So correct, if there really was an arrangement to have a middleman here, then the traffic source should be able to back this up.., well assuming their not involved in a part of the commission fee??....hummmm now that would be an interresting twist to the saga??..

I work with a lot of newbies, I send them a care package with helpful hints, etc and my ref id to sign up for programs. How I cover my costs to work with them.

I just want to know how many webmasters have signed up and used my ref ID.

And how many sign ups those webmasters have sent.

These are the stats I've been asking for, for weeks.

My question is this, She wants the stats of the clients that she sent to us.

I sent them an email asking there permision to give this data to her. They did not respond

I will protect the data of my clients first.

We dont have a refferal system on our website.

This is the confusion from the start.

We have a button that asked who reffered you.
This is for our own marketing.

She was under the impression we has some sort of refferal system set up.

The only refferl we pay is if they come to use on the side and explain who they sent over.

I haven't heard of any major referral programs that don't give you basic referral data. You may not get names and addresses, but you get account #'s.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

No That is not the problem the deal was made with Klient in the begining. When we discussed a higher pay out for my special clients. I include it with my newbies mostly because gee Klient said to make sure and use my affialiate id.

How many times do I need to say this?


Again I'm asking totals, not specifics, what is confidential about that?

Since Tyler keeps making excuses, I guess I win.

Melissa, please don't take this the wrong way, I don't know you, nor do I know smutcash. But I do have a tiny bit of knowledge in this biz.. OK it seems to me that there is some major confussion going on here as to what the deal (if there was any) is. If you were sendind out helpfull tips to your clients with recommended sponsors and with your referral codes, then you should have had an Iron clad deal set up with each sponsor you are promoting. Actually, I would most likely myself would have a tight close working relationship all in place with the sponsors I was recommending, before sending any clients to them... These are just my thoughts..

Again Tyler I did come to you and work out a deal - excuse me I came to Klient and worked out a deal, the only thing that wasn't settled was if it was $5 per or 10%.

I sent my clients to you, with my affiliate id, they entered, manually, some programs have the special link some don't. I send out lots of care packages as I'm willing to spend my time energy and effort to help other webmasters, especially newbies who don't have the resources to hire me straight out. Traffic brokering is only part of what I do.

Again more excuses Tyler as to why you won't give me the totals.... I have yet to get an answer on that.

She worked out a deal with her clients to get paid more if they sent more sales.
Never did she say anyting about her feee.
She assumed this, So that is whay im at a loss. I dont know what to pay her !!

Take note that Tyler didn't include the whole conversation all way back to June, and the only thing that wasn't finalized is if its going to be $5 or 10% recurring.

again, I've said this over and over and over, same thing, the same responses from Tyler, I'm more then willing to do what Lensmen suggests obvioulsy Tyler isn't. That's fine. Again it just shows what kind of business Tyler runs.

We aren't talking 10's of K. Again my whole point this is this:

1. I get no response to any e-mails I sent to Klient or beth and finally to tyler until I went to the boards.

2. On the phone Tyler and Klient said they weren't paying my clients (they come first)

3. When is Tyler or Klient actually going to answer any of my questions? Total # of webmasters, Total # of sign ups. On the special deals yes I know. But like I said I've sent more just plain deals ($45 per sign was a volume deal only)

Anything else is rehtoric. And unless you cannot give us a logical reason why you cannot provide referral stats, you should do so.

If you were trying to settle this then send a report everyone who has signed up to your program and said my affiliate id sent them.

And a report showing how many sign ups.

You haven't done that. So I don't see where you are trying to work things out.

I just want to make one final comment, while I appriciate Lensmen trying to settle things, I didn't come to the boards to get things settled, Tyler settled them when he backed out of the deal that was made with Klient. I just wanted to share my experiences.

and want to continue to send us sales.
They told me that they would take care of Melissa D,,

Actually Im going to pay her 10% on the sales to date. And I will email the client that I do not want there sales anymore..
