What gets more clicks assuming same text, etc.
A top sponsored link?(big ones at the top) #1 spot (regular listing) Or #1 adword spot. |

I'd say a regular spot.
It is obvious people pay for listings, and a lot of surfers know to avoid paid listings because a lot of the time it is irrelevant to what they are searching for.
