Cable, DSL , satelite, T1, Dialup - Whats in your house or office?

I have tried DSL and cable, and of course dialup. While I found cable very fast, I found DSL much more reliable as far as uptime. Whats your experience and whats in your house/office?

I've got 1.5 Mb DSL - as far as I'm aware it's pretty much the fastest we have available in Australia... it's "fast enough"

Mine is advertised as "up to 3mb" dsl, I usually average about 2.3 on speed tests. Next door has cable and I am almost always faster than them.

Same here on both responses... can never go back to 56K when cable offers 3Mbit

Cable.

Interestingly, in my area the people who try DSL complain alot about spotty uptime whereas the cable is the stable one. Guess it depends on your providers as much as the type of service.

I had Insight Cable when I was in Louisville. The tech support sucked ass and it was never their problem when it was down. Once they sent 3 different techs out to my house to check for problems before they figured out that a tech who upgraded something on a pole about 6 blocks away didnt quite get it put back together right. Took about a week before enuff complaints were made by folks in the neighborhood before they finally got it thru their thick fucking heads it was them and not us
