Cable, DSL , satelite, T1, Dialup - Whats in your house or office?
I have tried DSL and cable, and of course dialup. While I found cable very fast, I found DSL much more reliable as far as uptime. Whats your experience and whats in your house/office?

I've got 1.5 Mb DSL - as far as I'm aware it's pretty much the fastest we have available in Australia... it's "fast enough" :)
|
3mbps cable.
|
Mine is advertised as "up to 3mb" dsl, I usually average about 2.3 on speed tests. Next door has cable and I am almost always faster than them.
|
I got the 3 mbps dsl line. And I usually get 2.8 or about.
|
I fly solo on a T1 at my office.Cable at home.

i have cable, thinking about getting dsl but i don't have a land line. plus the line in my room is crap so i'd have to pay to get a technician to fix it. its bullshit.

I'm on ADSL at the moment, was on cable a while ago.

Your download speed : 2250030 bps, or 2197 kbps. A 274.6 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 402209 bps, or 392 kbps. speed test from dslreports.com i have optimum online cable, speeds are usually really good i've had it for over 2 years now and it's never down except for blackouts or things of that sort |
cable 3mb

Cable.
Interestingly, in my area the people who try DSL complain alot about spotty uptime whereas the cable is the stable one. Guess it depends on your providers as much as the type of service. |
My wife has t1 and I have cable , I find the cable to be faster and its been pretty reliable but not as reliable as the T1
