YOu just got back during the peak of its madness.

It seems to be a worm that gets sent out to people when ever someone downloads the exe from their mail box.. IT is spreading like mad, and not much we can do..

Just dont open them and keep deleting.
I get about 60 a day, and have my email forewared to yahoo, just so the bulk email folder can catch them and seperate it from my legit mail..

Read many of the posts here in the last week, lots of discussion about them, not much we can do.

Welcome back!

When you get them, Humbolt...... block that sender, I know it isn't stopping it but it lessens the likelyhood of someone opening them if they go straight to your deleted files folder......... Lightning told me that and now mine have all but slowed to a stop........ I have everyone on the damn planet on my fucking blocked sender list but my pc is virus free.

That virus attaches itself to a file and sends it to everyone in your address book, thats why you're getting the emails.

Use this to remove it if you do get the virus http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...oval.tool.html

The virus has hit me badly also with 700+ emails in just 3 days. It seems to be getting slowly better but i'm still getting lots.

TIP FOR DELETING THESE MAILS:

I just thought you might like to know that you can set Outlook Express "Message Rules" to automatically delete large emails without downloading them. You just need to goto:-

Tools -> Message Rules -> Mail

and hit the new button and apply the rules you require. I have configured mine to delete all mails from the server that is larger than 184k. This catches all the virus emails. Obviously this will delete proper emails that are above this size but for me that is an acceptible measure at this time.

Thanks ppl for all the help..
I have added 36 names to my mail filter list.
I use netscape for my mail program which makes me safe for 90% of all email viruses since they are usually setup to attach to
IE mail programs..
But this is still a pain in the ass

Humbolt, I use Netscape for my email also and
had been thinking about changing to Outlook sometime ago, but will be staying with Netscape 4.xx. MicroSoft I do
not believe will ever get ahead of these virus writer's.

I was getting 30+ a day but looks like am down to around 10, but am still getting that HaHaHa snow white also.

well, the virus finally filtered down to even my low level - a gf just sent me it wondering what to do with an email from a friend of hers asking for advice so she forwarded it to me
