Dogs ear infection = $116
WTF!!!
She had a little brown wax in one of her left ear. They said it was a minor ear infection gave me some drops for her ear. Then gave me a $116 bill.

yeah they rob you blind, i remember they suggested that we have our cats teeth cleaned, not sure what the final bill was, but my mum was fuming. She didnt talk to the cat for ages

if i had a scanner i'd show you my vet bills for this year - more than very good medical insurance for a family of four. vets are nice people but they are also thieves. |

No shit. My fucking pug has better health care than I do. The dog has been to the vet 2 times in the last year but I can't remember the last time I went to see the doctor.

My last vet bill was for over 800$.
No surgery, 3 shots, some tape iodine, gauze, and a few gallons of water that came from my hose. Imagine.

Vets deserve to make a nice living, they do go through alot of school and training. It's the gouging of good people who are devoted to their pets that pisses me off. |

It took 8 years, and even though she graduated with a 4.02 GPA from University, she wasn't accepted in to Vet school right away. She could have gone to any med school in Canada or the US, and couldn't get in to vet school. On top of that, she has to pay for continuing eduction each year. Her starting salary at a reputable Vet clinic here in Canada is right around $70,000. If you can't figure out that a $5.00 cleaner sold at any pet store will keep your pet's ear's clean and healthy, why should she give you a giant discount to clean the dog's ears for you? And when she has to operate on an Animal you'll expect her to be perfect doing it, but you won't wan to pay anymore money for that. It has to be blended together. How much of that bill was for the drops? I know the ear drops I've had to use were $30 alone here in Canada. |
