Trojan or Virus when watching .wmv .mpg or any movie - HELP!

Ok so I was reviewing some TGP's last night when something downloaded automatically. I stopped it (or so I thought) and blocked every program that was trying to get a connection to the internet.

Tell me - WTF is this thing that won't let me watch a movie? Everytime I try to open a movie/video file it gives me a Trojan warning - different file names in c:\windows\system32\*WHATEVER*.exe

Any of you get this sort of thing before? Help!!!!!!!!

there has been an exploit (internet explorer) where a script downloads an .exe and replaces it with your windows media players .exe..

so, if you click on a movie to watch it, your windows wont load the windows media player but the replaced .exe (trojaner, virus, hijacker etc) and starts it.

uninstall your media player..

and search for help at google

I got the same virus and had to totally wipe my drive. It attached itself all over the place. There was also a keylogger attached to it, so be careful with your passwords for a while.

I know, I know Fabien, but I'm used to IE - tried all the others but always came back. I'll have to switch eventually!

I downloaded XoftSpy from ParetoLogic & it told me all the files infected - then I manually cleaned/deleted the infect files. I can watch movies again this morning

For reference purposes or future search results the trojan was
AdClicker-BB Trojan & it kept giving me different *.exe installs with every movie/video I tried to view no matter what format.
