how do i catch a mouse?

the other day, i saved a mouse, a little baby, from death. my cats like mice... a lot. went out, got him a nice little house, and a few days later, he was gone. well, sitting here tonite, my cat spotted him... i kicked my cat out of the room, not too thrilled with the idea of her ripping it to shreds in front of me, and now... im here... alone... with a mouse, a few computers, and no idea how to get him back... should i just let my cat back in? help please!!!

I don't think you should put the cat back in the room.. I wouldn't want that poor innocent mouse to die, now would I? =( ..

Put some cheeze in a corner on a plate, and the mouse would probably come out of it's hiding spot =)

Let the cat get the mouse.

It's what nature would want.

if nature had its way, im sure my kitty would have eaten it when i first found it! i have three small cats that live outdoors... and they have already killed 4 large birds, a big rat, 4 mice, and countless bugs... they are murderers! is it wrong you think?

Hey you should run to the store and buy one of those sticky traps for mice and bugs, and put a piece of cheese on it. the mouse will get stuck to it and then you can just take it outside and let it go (far away from your house though...)

Mr. Labret is on a three month vacation courtesy of the Wayne County District Attourney. Three months, only because the attempted murder charges didn't stick.

no joke.

Peanut butter on a trap. Cats just play with them til they die and rarely eat them. One snap and they don't know what hit them. Their feces carry a airborne disease that will float up once it dries out.

what about mice as pets? a lot of people have mice as pets? im almost thinking of putting my kitty on a leash, having it go in to find him, then as soon as he spots it, yank him away... her i mean.

they are not murderers, it's just their instinct to hunt. also, they do eat what they hunt, after playing with it while it's alive, they just leave the heads untouched...

want to save the mouse? use a trap and then release it far away from your house...

PBS said that domesticated mice/rats don't have the same germs in their intestinal tract tht cause that disease Caroline. I dunno!

But that disease killed quite a few in the SouthWest on the Navajo reservation a few yrs ago as well as others that had somehow transferred the germs home from vacations around that area.

We've both had cats for most of our lives and the cats normally torment a mouse to death and then carry it around abit. Spit it out and walk away. We feed ours right so they don't want to eat a furry thing. lol

You should not be keeping wild mice as pets. They carry more disease than you could imagine. The big one being hantavirus which is deadly to humans, this is mainly from Deer mice, they're the brown ones with the really big ears. The danger is from their urine, and dust rising from the dried remnants of their urine, if you find dried mouse urine in your home, you should wash with bleach, while wearing gloves, and a mask. I am not kidding, do a search if you don't believe me. If you must catch this critter, peanut butter is the bait of choice for mice.

I would figure you would keep your cat fed well gf. Guys tend to let them get hungry more often. Our cat brings a mouse to us, demands the back door be opened and he roars out to the yard. spits the mouse out and chases it for a minute or two again and then saunters back inside. He is a house cat period! Loves the AC and his food being close by all the time!

You didn't make me depressed, Caroline, not at all. The kitty made me smile as a matter of fact. I am depressed due to lousy payments.. I am depressed due to 30 unique clicks on 6000 unique visitors.. But I know I should try again and _bla_bla_bla_, and I probably will. I will not hassle you any more with my depression.

Great kitty!
