You COULD learn some martial arts OR you could just strap explosives to yourself every day, and if anyone ever tries to fuck with you, you just blow yourself up. BOXING!!!!!!!!!! I have a black belt in Shotokan.............wish I was still young enough to physically take on the challenge of boxing. Wish I had done the boxing instead of martial art!

there is no quick, short and easy way to learn to defend yourself. you need constant training and interaction. even then, it's not about winning or losing its simply about improving your chances... the longer and harder you train... the greater your chance of successfully defending yourself.

the style is usually much less important than who is teaching it. any style can be effective and any style can be a complete joke, depending on who trained you.

I would have to say that boxing is a good choice for a regular scrap but it really depends what you are good at. If you have a good punch go with boxing if you have speed go with Karate...

For years, and I'm talking almost 20 I've been hearing this statement....and after seeing countless fights I can honestly recall only 3 that went to ground, out of 100's I saw at schools, bars, at the lake on weekends...the fights that didn't go to the ground were all pretty much brawls and one punchers.

1. You're wrong. I can assure you that a guy with a knife won't be doing much anymore after you break his nose, cheekbone and jaw and knock half a dozen teeth out.

When someone pulls out a knife, the main thing to do is get the fuck out of there. No martial art makes it safe to fight someone with a knife.
If you can't get the fuck out of there, you need to get the person with the knife as far away from you as possible. Muscles help here, simply because being big makes you more intimidating.
If you can't stay away from the guy with the knife either, you need to disable him as quickly as possible. Once again, muscles help, for obvious reasons.

Nothing provides a good defense against weapons except for superior weapons or being extremely skilled in martial arts. However, unless you are willing to spend huge amounts of time training, you won't be extremely skilled.

7)get a doctor to remove the colour in your eye so that it is completly white with only the black dot in the middle. then i promise you most people will stay the fuck away from you :D
