File Size Too Big

I'm trying to make banners with a rather shitty graphics program and when I'm done the file size of the banner is larger than the the original image I used to make the banner.

Is there a way of shrinking the file size??

Maybe someone would like to send me a good graphics program in exchange for some traffic??

HELP!

I would suggest photoshop but that's an quite expensive program.
Of course there are other ways to get it cheaper *hint*
If you mail me the prahpics I will help you out if you want.

If you only need to make the files smaller you could use Paint Shop Pro, a simple photoediting software, you can download it at http://www.jasc.com (shareware)

If you have alot of graphics work to do in the future it might be better to get photoshop.
If it's just a few banners i'll be glad to help you

Pete, whatever package you use, you'll have to experiment with image compression. Personally I think Paint Shop Pro handles that better than Photoshop, but I wouldn't want to use PSP to make banners over Photoshop.

Try WebGraphics Optimizer, it's fast and flexible, and pretty cheap too!

You should just use paintshop pro aslong as you don't need to make paysite front ends it will forfill all your graphic needs...

i've used it for 2 years now and have always been happy with it

Photoshop 6 kicks ass! (with image ready, of course)

the only problem is the steep learning curve, but once you get the basics, going up is really quick...
