The really sad thing is the people that will be trying to take advantage of the people that lost most or all of their lives in these storms.

After andrew I was working in South Dade, and we caught some guys that were selling hammers for 100$ Nails for 20$ PER POUND!

It was really sad.

To stand looking across miles of flattened trees that has stood 60+ft until the storm hit.

There are some serious issues beyond the starvation problem. A lot of the source is political corruption where a handfull of military leaders in these African countries take the money for their own enrichment instead of using it for its intended purpose of building infrastructure so these people can break out of the pathetic starvation cycle they get stuck in.

They have lots of kids because the chances of survival are slim for most. Its a fucked up approach, but unfortunately that's the only way they see to solve their problem. Bang them out and hope a couple survive.
