alternatives to iframe src=?

Is there any other alternatives to the iframe?

I am wanting to have each one of my main pages to have a certain area of the page where I can change @ a moments notice but the only thing that I have come up with so far is an Iframe.

Problem being the iframe throws part of the page off, killing the way that the surfer sees things.

Any suggestions?

Thank you. I'm assuming if you are letting me know this that it's SE safe.

If your server supports it, you can put some php in there. Make it simple. As for SE-friendly, just have apache allow .html or .htm whatever you are using as php.

That way you can still have your page.html which as long as you don't need to pass params in the URL, will be fine for SE.

If you must pass parameters, try:

www.site.com/example/param1/param2

where example is actually your php page, defined to be read as php and not as a directory in apache.
