I'm not sure what the good enclosures are but I bought a Speeze not too long ago and put a brand new 200gb Seagate in it. The damn thing would corrupt the drive within 5 minutes. It was constant problems.... after reading up it appears that there is a USB2 chip (gh something) that is not compatible with Windows XP and causes data corruption.
Anyways, I got the speeze one sitting here doing nothing becuase it sucks and picked up one of these instead: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-188&depa=0 Have yet to see a single problem. Just stay away from the Speeze enclosures and any that use that faulty USB2 chip. |
