Where do I complain?
I have been using registerfly.com now for a few months and I have 24 domains registered with them. Late last year (November), they decided to "block" one of my domains because "several people" had complained about being spammed.
OK - well... my host had no probs. My ISP had no probs. But my registrar for some reason decided to create a problem. No evidence was forthcoming, and to this day I do not know what their real problem was. They blamed "an executive at enom.com" and suggested I transfer it elsewhere. So I tried to transfer the domain elsewhere. But they refused. It's been sitting there - fully paid for - unusable since November last year. Like the fool I am, I thought "what the hell. I'll give them another go". And now (in the last few days) they have "locked" another 4 of my domains. Some of them I have never even used (so I know for sure they can't have had any complaints - manufactured or otherwise). So I have used their "support system" (bad term to use) and I have emailed them. Nothing. I have emailed their parent (econceptualize.com) and *nothing*. So I was thinking to complain to ICANN. Does that make sense? Being located where I am makes it a pain to get a lawyer in the US. I expect I am out of pocket to the tune of around $5K no more. Any ideas? |

Contacting ICANN couldn't hurt, I don't know if it will get much done for you. I do know I'll never buy a domain from them.

Read http://www.directnic.com 's site and see if you can't transfer them there without having to deal with your existing host. I'd move them all at once if possible and be done with them. At any rate directnic will do everything they can to help you get them shifted if you can't do it on your own from their site.
