some people make sculpture, some spin records, some sing, some dance, some cook, many decorate themselves. EVERYONE contributes in some way. EVERYONE is responsible for clean up, safety, etc.

the tickets say, "PARTICIPANTS ONLY. NO SPECTATORS."

If you show up in bermuda shorts with a camera around your neck - hoping to take pics of "weird people," expect to be body painted by the end of the day. :)

Geoff Tate and Scott Rockenfeld of Queensryche made a trip to the Burning Man. They then composed an entire CD abut their personal experiences there. It's called "Tribe" and has a song titled "Burning Man." It's a very cool CD. Grab a copy. :thumbsup

Hal, these pics are very beautiful and inspiring. Although I can't say that I truly understand Burning Man, it does appear to be very interesting and emotional. Being able to let go of material things and all of the baggage they carry with them is extremely difficult for most people. I would be interested in going one time to see and experience the event.

BTW, I admire the fact that you are so comfortable with yourself that you can proudly wear pink. I wish I had that kind of courage.
