Best sports car that keeps its value?

I am looking to buy a sports car that can hold most of its value within a few years. I have about $120,000 to spend and would keep the car for a few years but would love to get most of my money back if possible.

I know cars are the worst investment but I would love to enjoy a sweet sports car but not waste tons of money in the process. Especially since I only need it for a few years.

Damn.. its either dead tonight or nobody online has an answer.

I was going to post this question on some car forums but it's such a general question that I will never get an answer.

I just figured there are some pretty wealthy people here who do spend big money on cars and maybe they had some insight on specific brands that hold their value more than others.

nothing new. buy a classic muscle car. mustang GT 500, yenko camaro, or a classic ferrari. New cars dont hold value, classics only go up.

Every car drops in value till it is old enough to be a classic then the value starts to go back and may exceed original price. They are long term investments. The only vehicles that retain value are trucks.

Porsche or Ferrari. For Ferrari check out the 360 Spyders, and for Porsche I'd go with either a 911 turbo or a GT3.

Here's some info on Porsches

Whatever you decide to get, in my experience, shopping and choosing is half the fun. You'll have a blast test driving these things, I'm sure

Very true, they aren't going to hold their value well if they are daily drivers. Most are just garage queens, and are only taken out for shows, or once or twice a year. This guy sounds like he actually wants something to drive and have fun with for a few years.

Nothing new really holds their Value, Ferrari's drop like stock after I buy them.

If you are into old cars, get a classic 68 Camaro convertible or something. You won't lose.

Porsche's GT3 is probably your best bet. It's in the price range. And is limited enough in production numbers that it *should* hold most of its value for a while.

best thing to do is buy something that is a year or 2 old, because that's when the highest amount of depreciation occurs.

a classic Ferrari would be a way to go. very difficult to maintain though.

the modena will probably drop a bit in price as soon as the F430's start rolling out.

i'd either go with the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, or the Lambo Gallardo. one of these will be my next car

Assuming you want a new car, do what I did. Buy an SL500.

Classics are great, but they aren't daily drivers.

i'd also say the SL500 - the 2003 models are still selling for pretty close to sticket price and they are 1 1/2 years old already....if you want to spend a bit more, maybe get the SL55
