domain name dispute
Just curious if something like this happened to you before and what the outcome was.
I am based in the EU and run a free site on a domain that is typed similar (plural and org instead of com) like another free site. The other webmaster is now claiming he has a trademark on his name and that I violate this trademark by operating my domain. His trademark is from the US and I am based in the EU, so I do not need to be afraid as I do not break a European law .... right???? Is there a way the other guy will be able to catch my domain from the registrar (US based)? PS: no, I am not going to hire a bloodsucking lawyer because of a free site ....

Ask for proof he has it trademarked or search it up yourself. Also if its such a big issue for him why didnt he buy the .org himself. Pretty stupid.

Find out if he has a trademark. At this location:
http://www.uspto.gov/ If he doesn't have a trademark on it, then pay the bastard back by trademarking it, and then going to an arbitrator, should only cost you 1400 US, and they will transfer the domain to you.
