It's ok, but IMO anything more than 8 seems too cluttered and messy.

Is a text link ok as a recip? Top Line would be Link List name and below the niche i'm submitting to or something like that.

Yes, a text link is ok as a recip. A lot of link lists are actually now switching to the recip structure you are speaking of to get more targeted traffic to their categories as well as improve their search engine rank.

Hand submitting does not mean he can't use a form filling automation.

Checking a submission, and pressing submit constitutes hand submission to me ...

The best form filler is now http://www.dreamsubmitter.com

I would stick with 8 as a maximum. Don't go anymore, but I always use 8.

Add my site to your list! I'll take free site's, AVS site's, and paysites!

I have been submitting free sites for a while and I always hand submit. Plus I use nothing but text links about 9 of them all in a nice table. I have found that if your site looks good you'll get listed all over no matter how your recip table looks!

Good Luck

Even the bigger link lists (that have buttons to go along with their category specific text recip) don't mind???

if you're getting advanced submitter, I'll set you up with the link-list DB, it's pretty sweet.

we made this one - its a nice list of link lists organised into blocks of 8 (for recips)

Link List Submit Link List Submit Tool

Next week the full verion (free) will be available - you can search by niche, rating, random block arrangements. Its semi automated.
Webmasters will be able to submit their Lists too via the DB.

I have Roboform and it fills in most of the fields that need to be filled in.

Is Dream Submitter reallly worth it for $30 a month?

I mean I rather pay one time fee of $200 lets say, rather than paying $30 every month.

Free Site Wizard is a nice tool. I'm in the process of converting the DB that I've been building in that to a DreamSubmitter DB.

AdvancedSubmitter mainly because of two characteristics

a) ability to add as many recips and to whatever direction/position you want (easy to create a table with three rows of recips)
b) ability to duplicate a link-list submission to different directories.
Thats a must for many link-lists that want their submit page to be named index.html (or something like that) ALL the time and they don't want index019.html or any such naming structures.

whatever you use you should use the auto fill in feature and NOT autosubmit.
