resizing images?

what do you use for resizing images?
I have some 50 folders with 100 pics in each folder. The pics are 1 megabyte each so I need to resize them but don't feel like doing it manually.

You can do it with an action and the batch function in Photoshop. ACDSee also does it rather well in batch mode.

Step back from the screen a few feet. You'll notice the images getting smaller. It works without any plugins or additional software.

You can just record an action in PS.
You can't make it save auto with the same filename (at least, I haven't found out how) but you can do batch resizing, etc. automatically.
Arles works well too, though
