do freehosts still exist?
are there still freehosts around with FTP access that actually works? and possibly a high file size limit (150KB-200KB)?

Pretty much every sponsor that is serous offer freehosting for their affiliates. Kinghost and smutservers still offer free hosts I think, but limit the size of files tho.
