Who Do You Respect More? Innovators or Imitators?
To innovate something and be successful often relies on a lot of luck (hell people are innovating good stuff all the time and failing). On the other hand, if you have a person who simply copies another person's model and can make it into a successful venture for themselves through clever marketing, etc than arguably they are worthy of more respect.
Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but in a lot of instances success through innovation is often generated through luck, or else by a line of thought that just happened to hit a person at one moment. Imitators however work hard to build and succeed with their empire, using a range of clever skills in order to outdo the initial innovator. What are your thoughts? |
