Photoshop vs Arles

i want to do make simple "watermark text" in the lower right hand corner of a bunch of pics

but it won't let me do this as an action that i can then batch in PS

this is what i want to do:
http://www.digitaldutch.com/arles/tu...html#watermark

do i really need to get Arles? i just paid $1600 last month for Adobe PhotoCollection... it has to be able to do the same thing, right?

You should be able to make an action that does that. A text layer with low opacity and a light drop shadow would do it, wouldn't it?

Get CompuPic Pro by Photodex . I love this tool and it has tons of features that come in handy. The watermarking feature can be done in batch after you set up the required info such as left, right, etc. and how many pixels in (use a negative number when moving out from the right) It is also very inexpensive. Try it out you will be glad you did.

Easton ... just make your text in Photoshop, bevel it with a hard edge, then turn the FILL opacity down between 10%-20%. This should give you the same effect.

Also looks like the bevel direction is turned 'down'

although i havent tried all the apps that were mentioned... the problem i've found with some is that they dont support transparent images, formats with true alpha blending like .png files... most will support the choppy transparent gifs only.

anyhow.. here's a link to a photoshop tutorial.

Hey Easton, We've been using Arles for a couple of years and it's a great tool, especially when you consider the price!

However if you just want to use it for watermarking pics I'm pretty sure you can download the free demo and it will do everything the licensed version does.

I THINK the only difference between the 2 is that the free version has a link back to the Arles site on every HTML page it outputs. But if you just want to use it for watermarking pics that wouldn't matter.
