okay. i'm a sports goober. but i have never understood how the us could get away with sending professional basketball players to an even that was suppossed to be for amateurs. how did that happen?

the olympics is now a competition for the best in the world to compete.. professionals and amateurs... hockey players, soccer players, tennis players, basketball players... Judokas.. etc... but some sports for different reasons wont sed pros... like boxing.,,

I give the Dream Team some credit for going out there and trying.

On the other hand, the NBA is pathetic. They did a horrible job with the recruiting and couldn't get better players out there.

Everybody need to stop blaming the players and put some blame on the NBA.

I give them credit for trying but the point is that not a one of them could hang around for the closing ceremonies. It would've been nice to see at least one of our super star basketball players participating in the closing. I won't be looking forward to the US in international basketball next time unless some serious changes are imposed.
