There are many ways to make good chunks of cash short term. Explore them.
yes, he is getting better which is a very good thing and I'm no longer asking people here to help me. That was not the intent of this thread. I'm already doing what I can to try to generates a substancial income to help him which includes, as stated, giving all my own earnings. I'll need to find out the other ways to generate cash.

forgot to add "ALL of my earnings after I paid my bills which is still a good amount." Obviously I need to pay my bills or I'd be homelss. nevertheless, I still consider it all my earnings.

It's reasons liek this that parents should ALWAYS have good insurance, even if you are Canadian. I find it very selfish and irresponsible to not spend $35 /mo to get suplimentary medical insurance.

That can cover dental, eye, braces, back doctor, special helmets as in this case, lots of important things. That $1300 helmet would only cost $260 with Sun Life

So what you're saying is that I'd use a fake story about my first nephew in order to profit? AND I did not make the first thread on here concerning this. Ok, so you think that this is shady. Want the # to the hospital and the room #? Want my mom's and dad's #? How about the phone # to the new hospital they are being transfered to tomorrow so he can start his therapy?

Not to worry, you won't see another thread about this so called "shady" thing. Ya, it's a family thing but I consider some people here and on other boards my friends. I guess it's wrong to ask for help or even talk about the situation with friends. If I was someone that no one knew (in the industry) then ya, would seem a little shady but do you think I would ruin whatever reputation I have to gain a few bucks? Screw that, I've been doing this (the porn thing) for too long to mess it all up. Of course, you're free to think what you want.

My mom is a nurse so she knows and I will go to the hospital if I get worse but for now I am taking an antibiotic and I am doing breathing treatments so that hopefully I can beat it without spending a couple grand

Glad the little one is doing better! Hey, if he needs it for two days or a few months, the cost of the helmet shouldn't be an issue. The helmet just might save his life again.

Sucks that it costs so much but I am sure your sister can get on a payment plan. Look on the bright side, they gave the helmet and billed instead of wanting payment in full.

well, I guess there is always the option of not getting it if you don't think it is worth it . . . and no, a m/c helmet is not forever. The first time it hits the ground it is suggested you replace it since the membrane has been compromised

sounds like it has to be custom made for him too . . . . $1,300 sounds quite reasonable

well, since I seem to recall newspaper articles about it, I think that may be a stretch thinking it was a scam

If you only need $1300 for the helmet, why not take some coffee cans, put some signs on it to explain the situation and toss on a picture of the boy and then drop them off at different stores and restarrants in the area.

I know that I see that kind of stuff around here all the time for kids born with this disease and people losing homes in fires, etc... I'm sure that you could get a few bucks from that.

Then again, it might take a couple of weeks to do it that way. It wouldn't be the quickest method.
