What is considered to be a "high income" in America?

If I make, say $5000 / month, is that a high or a low income?

You'll know if you're "High Income" by the around of taxes you're forced to pay.

The richer you become the less you pay

Really depends on where you live. You make 5k/month and live in rural south you would be considered well off. You live in southern California and make 5k/month you're middle class.

YEah, but you cannot write off a hummer as a "Business Expense" and get money back from the GOVT for it like you can in the GOOD OLD US OF A...

Rich People can afford it, poor-middle class people cannot

It depends where you live. New York, San Fran or Hong Kong? You're poor, almost homeless. Missouri, Oklahoma, New Brunswick... you can live like a king.

You are considered to have a high income in America if you have any type of "yard" in California that is larger than 4 square foot.

Who said anything about grass? You have to cut that shit...I've got brick....A nice big patio. No fuss, no muss. All I have to do is spray it down every couple of days.

/me misses his 3 acres in Neb....

no. Usually such numbers increase about 2-3% a year.

5k a month x 12 months = 60k a year. you'll see by the census chart that that's above average for every single state in the US (2002 anyways) and in some states that's double. You'd be doing nice in my neck of the woods, just as long as you aren't up to your eyeballs in debt.
