I got my old E36 M3 in beautiful condition with 76k miles on it for $17,800 and that was from a dealer. Private party you could get it much much cheaper.

One of my best friends has a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. It's really really fun, fast and from what she said it wasn't too bad on the bank.

Also, the Celica isn't a bad idea either... those are fun to cruise in.
