The best band you never heard off here! What are you favs?

Im always looking at expanding my musical tastes and some of the best bands iIfound are never in the top 40 on any chart.

What are some of the best bands that I have never heard of?

Post here with the name and the genre.

I would love to hear your replies.

I gave you a good sampling of what's in my library, but no where NEAR the whole thing, (though I can fit that on a couple of CDs if you want it..teehee)

Dream Theater
Queensryche
Ministry
Type O Negative
Skinny Puppy
Sisters of Mercy
Dead Can Dance
Pretty much any 80s hair band or metal band

My gf's brother is the drummer. They just put out a CD called "Footwork" , It's a crazy mix of Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop and Alternative Rock. They have all the regular instruments along with a brass section, piano, and keyboard.

alot of bands named here are really well known....

Like Ministry...

anyway, you could give the following a spin:

Grim Skunk (the first 4 albums)
Small Brown Bike (real alternative)
Tricky Woo (rock'n'roll baby! And not the poseur that are jumping on the bandwagon now!)
Local Rabbits (also R'n'R)
Bran Van 3000 (nice funky music)
Gaffer (Id call it hardcore Rock'n'Roll but [lebrat] would have a stroke)

It's so crazy that The Libertines got so big. 6, 7 years ago my band was playing basement shows with them. They were awesome back then too.
