More ASScroft possibilities...

A friend directed me to a posting on a relatively obscure, but quite popular website: www.slashdot.com

Here is the posting...

"Is Star Wars: A New Hope the most violent movie ever? What I mean is, does it have the highest body count of any movie ever? They blow up a planet full of people and then a death star full of people! I figured if anyone would know, it would be you guys." That's a very good point. If violence is measured by number of sentient beings killed, then Star Wars Episode IV is going to be first on the chopping block when the Republicans come to censor our movies. And censor they will. Also there's the one episode of Star Trek: Voyager in which not just planets but entire species are wiped out, but then they crash Voyager into the time ship and the timeline reverts to the way it was so nobody ever really died ... or did they? Anyway these are the films, ladies and gentlemen, the mass-murdering films and TV shows, that John Ashcroft will ban, in conjunction with the Christian Coalition. Anyone standing up for them will be tarred as defending mass murder. Mark my words."

-------

This makes me wonder if documentaries about past wars and ancient civilizations will be banned as well because topics such as genocide and murder were the overall theme at times. Uh-oh.... Will the news broadcast be banned/censored as well? Can't talk about and DEFINITELY cannot show anything that is somehow related to violence, crime or as they like to say off the record, 'bad things'. The show COPS will have to go, so will Homicide: Life on the Streets, Court TV is history as well, and... egads! No more Tom and Jerry (too much violence)!

The way i see it, if you're gonna ban one thing, you may as well get 'em all. Yep. Rock on, Ashcroft. Remove anything from our lives that even suggests of or remotely alludes to things you and your self-serving and overbearing (im)moral majority(?) followers think is wrong.

That means the 700 Club will be begging for money on TV 24/7 -- and it will be the only channel available. No more nudie bars or porn in general. Movies will contain flowers and flowers and people dressed solely in loose-fitting non-revealing sack cloths. No one will be admitted to public pools. Period. Can't risk anyone seeing your flesh. Let alone human flesh glistening with water droplets. WAY too perverse!

Life will be so wholesome and so pure. I can hardly wait. We'll all be locked away in our stark barren cubicles watching the 700 Club. Such a peaceful time it will be.

Yep. Especially after everyone kills themself out of boredom.

If you're wondering, yes, this was indeed a rant. I hope you enjoyed it.

Your friend and mine,

- Blakk Frogg

Don't paint all Republicans in that manner. Right wing Christians? Sure, but there are plenty of good moderate and liberal Republicans.

Did not mean to point any fingers at a political party in particular, just any person that wishes to take away liberties and freedoms allegedly guaranteed to all by the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. They can be democrat, republican, libertarian, swedish, dutch, albino, martian, plant, animal, gopher or goldfish as far as I am concerned. I just don't like the idea of ANY of them attempting to assert their 'morals' into my life.

When I said "you and your self-serving and overbearing (im)moral majority(?) followers", I meant Ashcroft and all those that think like him, not just within his political affiliation. You can be a hardened democrat and still hold libertarian or republican views at times.

Hmmm... I really ought to plan my rants out a little better. A bad day at work resulted in my ranting and landing in what could be hot water. I think I'll blame my boss for this. LOL

Ok lets get some shit straight guys.

Quoting Al Gore (not word for word..but very close)

"Movie Industry! If I am elected you will have 2-weeks to clean up your act. Every theater must check people's id's before issuing tickets & there must be someone standing at each theater entrance to ensure no children sneak in"

Quoting Tipper Gore (not word for word)

"The Music & Entertainment industry really need to clean up. Our children are being subjected to voilence & foul language on a daily basis. I plan to push for more stringent laws...."

If you wish to argue that these statements are fabricated..I will be glad to find them & re-post them.

So before you totally start blaming repubs for everything, get your shit together. Because Al Gore planned on Censoring from the get-go. George bush just Hired a puppet to do it for him.

So in closing, both democrats & repubs suck.

GREEN PARTY! =)D lol

Oh yeah it is the movie industry that is promoting all this stuff to kids. Once again I like the way people point fingers even Al and his wifey poo Tipper pointing fingers. But when is someone going to wake up and smell the Coffee!!! Start pointing the finger at fucking lazy parents that don't take the time to find out what their kids are getting themselves into.

A quick note, http://slashcode.com/ is free and a real multi threaded forum. GFY would be great with that because you can have threads in threads and you can have people moderation system which is really awesome.

I have so much Karma on slashdot, that I am almost like a god
