question for the Blackberry users...

i was thinking about getting one - just for email use only, no phone calls.

anyone here use one?

if so, how do you like it?

how much did you pay?

how much is your monthly service and via which carrier?

thanks!

I used too, just upgraded to the Treo 600 tho and love it so much more. My blackberry was great tho - I used it for voice & data, paid about 250$/month (keep in mind the overages are also factored in there) for Rogers/AT&T in Canada - paid 500$ or so for the blackberry

i can get the TREO on my Sprint service, but the keyboard was a bit too small and the phone a bit too big for my taste to carry around all the time....

I've got a bb 6750 from verizon... the dataplan is only 40$ but there's a catch. U can't get outlook or internet access unless you have a BES setup.. this only implies to verizon bb's. However, I've got a 19$ accout via mailstreet who provides internet to my bb. It's pretty pimp... I get my outlook email, webclient email, running webmessenger (icq/aim/msn/yahoo) via relay so you don't piss away ure txt msgs, ssh (rebooting my boxes at dinner is nice), and other cool tools. Defintely couldn't live without it.

OK here we go.....

If your talking E-mail....FORGET ABOUT THE TREO. The TREO polls for E-mails. Meaning you have to request for it to retrieve your e-mails before you get them.

The BlackBerry is the only INSTANT e-mail Pull and Push. You get e-mails to the Blackberry instantly and get ones from your domain name that are not forwarded (to your blackberry e-mail) in about 10min. If you wanted to forward to the BB e-mail than your talking instant.

I pay $100 a month with Nextel but thats with voice plan included. Its $44.95 for unlimited use of the BlackBerry Data and E-Mail. I would recommend the Nextel 7510 because it is the only BlackBerry with a Speakerphone and IP capabilities out of the box. Allowing you to install all third party applications. Browse the web etc....

I can't live without my Blackberry since I do about 400+ e-mails a day. If E-mail is for you then drop the silly Treo and get a Business Tool.
