What kind of router? the newer ones, you just need to set that drive to be shared, and rebootand magically works... what OS are you using on both pcs?

you have to turn on windows file sharing and stuff in the network options for the adapter the link is on then if it can't see it
go on the laptop and find its IP and then on the other one type in explorer: \\ipaddress\ to connect to find its IP go to a shell: run > "cmd" and run ipconfig /all you might want to set it a static IP |
