Russia says they're 90% done with Iran's new nuclear reactor.

Who wants to bet that if Bush is re-elected we'll be bombing Iran by the end of next year? I smell a draft coming.

Iran is developing nukes and they got lots of help from North Korea who btw is currently working on extending the reach of it's atomic weapons to the US.

I'm not sure what's going on but Iran surely looked at NK and noticed that the US won't attack a country that actually have WMD's and so it became convinced that it needs nukes to keep the US away.

You have a mad man in NK who seems almost as insane as Hitler but Bush is busy going after some weak third-world country crippled by decades of sanctions.

I agree Roger, but North Korea's a pushover. We've got weapons that'd take em' out before they knew what hit em', problem is they've got reactors and nuclear fuels. If you hit the target and that plutonium goes up into the atmosphere or the ocean we're allllllllll ---FFFFFFUCKED!

That's the reason NK is still there. When we find a way to take em' out and not trigger a planetary catastrophe they'll wake up one day not on Earth any longer.

Assuming for one weirdo moment that the "management" of Iran are not as dumb as Bush - I doubt Iran gives one shit about the US.

Middle East countries have there own problems to solve and "protection" to implement against existing nuclear powers in that region. What has that got to do with the US? Nothing as usual :-)

While we're at it... can we address the issue - a far more relevant one - of the US deviating/side-stepping/back-sliding ... whatever ya want to call it - of continually developing nuclear weaponary, despite they agreed to quit and limit this. Currently the budget for this is 6.4billion of US taxpayers funds while at the same time whining about everyone else - from North Korea to Iran and kissing the ass of an undemocratic military dictatorship in possession of nuclear capability in Pakistan.

Someone needs to see a shrink and look inwards and check out their own back yard.

The problem with these countries are not that they have nukes, but the fact that they refuse to allow anyone to inspect them.

North Korea can have all the nuclear weapons they want. The moment they launch, all of North Korea will be taken out. So they can have them.

Same with Iran.

The problem with nuclear power plants and weapons is that the rest of the world needs to know they are "safe". An problem at a nuclear power plant is not a local problem in North Korea; It can have effects thousands of miles away - and thus other countries feel the need to inspect them to make sure they are operted in a safe manner.

Both the US and Russia have had to major problems - Three Mile Island and Chernobyl.

Add to that all the "deviant" continued nuclear development, tho agreements have been signed, yet they manage to spend 6.4billion this year alone on further development.

As far as Russia's interests in Ian,
they have a very long history of friendship and Iran is the only friend they have in the middle east. Iran will never pose a thread to Moscow, but russians cant be that stupid to ignore future threats from their own Muslim population with the help from Iran.

Taking our Iranian nukes will be a challenge, but i dont forse US doing it at any cost. Israel will !

The US is the main obstacle in all Western Countries about "nuclear inspections". It is a country which has blocked every attempt at inhibiting everything from depleted uranium use to even clearing up your crap land mines. As for "inspections" - you don't know how to spell the word, nevermind it's meaning.

Credibility is a word to learn as well... there is none...

This is all part of America's plan of insuring Israel's supremacy in the middle east, which is an extremely unhealthy situation that puts the lives of 300 million Americans in danger. If Israel wants to wage war with its neighbors, let them do it. But let's not drag the US into this as well. If Uncle Sam invades Iran, Russia could get involved for the other side and it would get really, really ugly...

There was this thing called the Iran Hostage Crisis. That was preceded by the overthrow of our puppet the Shah by Islamist fundamentalists under Ayatollah Khomeini. Which was preceded by our "regime change" overthrowing Mossadeq when his government voted to nationalize oil. And the whole reason we supported Saddam in the first place was to use him against the Iranians. So we've had a beef with Iran long before we had a beef with Iraq. Amazing how history repeats itself. If we found a reason to invade Iraq, you can bet the neocons can find a reason to invade Iran.
