since my gf got preggers we bought a car, then a house, then a new car and i'm doing steady work.

Prior to that we lived in a crummy appartment, our lives sucked, we thought we'd never have anything to look forward to and we didn't care where our lives went and we were depressed about not having a car or a home of our own while our friends had everything and didn't appreciate it one bit. A rut is what we lived in.

Amazing what a child on the horizon can do. We want nothing but the best for our little family.

i think you should seriously consider putting the child up for adoption.

There are many couples out there who could provide an amazing life for a an unplanned child.

You are positioned to bring nothing but hardship and struggle to a child because you did not really think "it" would happen to you.

Think about it......

do not be selfish....do not think just becuae you feel like "stepping up" it is the best thing to do.

The right thing to do and the best thing to do are two totally different things.

You should sit down and discuss giving the child to a family who will provide it with an ideal life....not one of struggle and resentment.

most adoptions are done through agencies and lawyers.. very little are actually put up to the state..unless there is a death or no one to take care fo the newborn. I say adoption is a great way..so many people that cant have children and want kids badly.

I gave my first child up... the parents were and are still fantastic.. he is 19 now.. but I got letters and pictures and was allowed to send things to him..we have a good open realationship. I still have yet to meet him.. but that is a very possible option when he is ready to confront me or wants to meet me... the father and I are still very close friends and stay in contact over this.


Adoption or abortion is all I have to offer for advice. too many kids being raised by grandparents because the parents skipped out to "live their life"...if the girl says she is not ready..guess what..she is not ready and will resent the hell out of the child..she is the one that is physically going to gestate the fetus.. are you ready to give up your childhood and youth to be a full time dad?..its not easy!!!

This thread makes me realize I am way too selfish to have kids anytime soon.
