Hotlink protection and frontpage 98'

Hello,
I recently had my server hotlink protect my site but went to build some pages with frontpage 98' and realized that I can't as it creates the pages live.(duh!)
Is there anyway to get around this?
Possibly in frontpage or .htaccess?

Thanks

You might be using front page extensions on your server

This is a security risk and can allow people to hack into your server, if you aren't careful

The best way to add hotlink protection is through the use of .htaccess files

You need to organize the images and pages which you don't want hotlinked into one folder, then add an htaccess file to the folder

If you wish to still use frontpage, the best way is to publish the web to your hard drive; ie; copy_of_my_pornwebsite

then upload the copy to your server using an ftp program

First when creating a page I upload the images(ftp) then use frontpage editor to tell
it where the thumbs are and hyperlink them to the corrosponding full images. This produces a "live" view of the page so I can see if everything is correct or make changes.
Now with hotlink protect my thumbs are not viewed and I can't hyperlink to the full images.
I create pages this way as my server has no frontpage extensions. Maybe this is what Lensman was wondering.

Perfect, thanks Rip

For some reason I was thinking .htaccess only needed to be in the base or root of my domain and not in each folder. Thats the reason I asked svwh to protect the site as I thought I screwed up the .htaccess.
I'll have them remove there filters and create another or have them make one to be sure.
Thanks all.

Zeus has hotlink protection built-in.

Appearently its something developed on there part.
"To protect against this problem Silicon Valley Web Hosting has developed a set of filters that, if enabled, will allow your virtual servers to refuse to serve any images not requested by a page within your site. If somebody does try to hot link to images on your web site they will instead receive a "not authorized" message."
