When I sent the email to the brazilian terra asking about the "pornographic" in their trems & conditions, they said that sex and nude pictures is permited.

Just looked there, the terms in portuguese and spanish are the same (I just love spanish http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif ). So only if the spanish Terra guys has different point of view about that term than the guys from brazilian Terra.

It seems there is still some confusion about terra.es
But it does look like they are not really an aduld host, atleast in the spanish version..

like some people have stated though, what will happen to all the adult sites that are up on them now, if terra decides to get their act together and inforce their non adult policies??

For the people with sites on their servers... Move to lightningfree and simply put a changed locations page up. Not a redirect!! Terre won't rip your site down for that and you should still get most of your traffic. A redirect would prob be viewed as porn since thats where it would go. But a a simple note should be allowable!

I just signed up for a terra account, and discovered that I couldn't upload to their FTP.

"Server closed control connection.
Data Connection closed"

Is this to only allow people, using their dialed internet service, to use their webspace?

Can anyone explain?

I didn't read the whole thread, but terra.es certainly isn't losing money by hosting all of these adult sites, I can assure you that.

Anyways, it's the same sense as napster. Having a large database increses stock value, and other aspects of their company. Do you think napster is a billion dollar company because of the little cd now banner that they have advertised when people download music. Of course not. If you looked at napster during its peak, there wasn't one single banner on the main site. They base their money around having people invest in the company etc. I don't know what I'm talking about to a good exstent, but I have heard many times again that having a large database, and using up the bandwidth increases their value a lot.
