I guess you're not idiot... so please don't act like one. You KNOW why terra.es don't delete account burning 20gig/day, and it's only because they don't give a fuck right now. Every fucking big "online network" has stats on bandwitdh and stuff like that... why did they upgrade their network in the past 4 months if it wasn't the case? (ie: personal3/ to personal4/..etc)

You don't have to ask them, "how can they deal with that", if it wasn't because it's hurting your business. Saying anything else it taking us for perfect idiots.

Also, I think webmasters out there are smart enough to know that it's not a good idea to put free pages on ANY freehost. Trust me, I'm using terra.es since 4-5 months, and it's far superior to ANY freehost. How many adult freehosts shut down in the past 4 months? Way too many.

If you don't like me, fine... continue to act like the good guy who don't give a fuck about terra.es used more everyday by almost every webmaster. If I was you, I would just tell the truth about terra.es, and I would like them to close their freehost access, because they are hurting my business. I just hate liars. Period.

I review a lot of galleries per day and there are lot more Lightning free galleries out there than terra.es what will happen when they pull the plug and you have shit all over yourself for being a big time guy for 15 miniutes. people like you come and go every day you have your susposed 5 min in the sun and then just fuck off.

Sorry, but I don't think that your free host is so great. 2 reasons:
1. no FTP - wtf ? one of the largest in the world without FTP ? heh....
2. max file size 40 k ?? you gotta be fucking kidding....i'm not going to serve pictures that are thumb size.

Now, I understand that those things are saving you a lot of $$$ but no ftp on a host is simply Lame. Maybe its good enough for newbies who just made their first gallery.
There are many free hosts that are way better (i like freepornspace - FTP, great user friendly banners, etc. I'm not even talking about Smutserver)

Once again, no offence, but I just had to argue with ppl who say that LightningFree kicks ass.

Darkjedi, we are are welcome to our own opinions. I just have to say a few things.
First this post was never started to be about My hosting at all. It's people like you that take a thread that was intended to be informative for everyone, and turn it into a negative pissing match..

Second, max file size of 40K thats not us, what we do is limit the maximum height or width to 600. That's still a big picture.

As for ftp, well thats a security issue I can't go into here. However, I wasn't going to let this out on this type of a thread, but here I go, We are currently working on implementing Zip file uploading, like Porn City has. This is a very equal alternative to ftp, and should be running withen 2 weeks.

The best freehosts are the ones that do not offer ftp in my opinion. They include PornCity, LightningFree & Stynk. The ones that offer ftp seem to have alot of problems with their ftp service (hard to log in, ftp downtime, etc). Adultbest had files limit to 40K & looks like they are gone again.

Anyway, I've been following this terra.es topic on at least three different boards. I'm not surprised that they are starting to turn away adult sites now. There were alot of greedy webmasters who just had to have a site there only because they didn't have banners. Having no baners means one of two things: 1) accounts will eventually be closed, or 2) big ass banners will be on the horizon (case in point, look at x20host.com, who had only a text link at the top & bottom but now have three big ass pics along with only other banners & links).

If you don't like how freehosts operate, that's not a problem since you can get pay host. If you don't like how one freehost operates, that's not a problem either for there are other freehosts out there.

Well, the Brazilian Terra accepts porn, they answered my email.
They have 2 options: 5 MB free with pop-up banners or 50 MB for who uses their ISP, like I do (ADSL). I just checked this 50MB yesterday (and I use them since July 2000). So I have 50MB http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

Spanish is my native language so I might be able to help here. I went to terra.es and read terms and conditions.
Terra seems to be a free host of the same kind as geocities and the like.
Their terms and conditions specify that pornography is not allowed.
what they mean by pornography (after going to most respected dictionary of the spanish language) is any material related or refering to prostitution or obscene. Obscene they define it as anything offensive to decency.
I would not be surprised if the adult sites hosted there disapeared soon, but then again it is not like they haven't noticed they are hosting such sites so, who knows why they haven't yet or if they ever will. But their terms are clear and if I had bumped into terra (without knowing there are a few who do host their adult sites or galleries there)and read their terms and conditions I would have never posted an adult site there.
