Just because someone is bigger it doesnt mean they have limited mobility or energy. Yes a good deal do, But personaly I am not one of them.

I love to swim, I dont own a car so I walk everywhere. I dont like stairs,not because I get winded from being heavy but because when I was a kid I fell down a flight of stairs and messed up my knee/hip/thighbone(bad injury).
There for I take them slow as not to re-injur my leg(clumbsy). Um.. I love to dance and can easily dance for long periods of time.(intense dancing simular to arerobics, But I cant describe it unless you have ever been to an industrial/ebm club in so cal). I can run for short distances(once again with the leg issue) I am very flexable (hehe good for certain..activities.)

And yes i do know some girls that are bigger and even some that are 100-200 lbs smaller then me that get tired walking,ect. So I can understand the whole thing of thinking bigger people are slower, but that is not always the case.

Weight doesnt always have to do with mobility. There can be other health factors involved.

Very true... I'm still losing my weight from baby... I walk several miles each day, I run up and down the stairs in my house, I do more physical activity than some athletes I swear. I'm now taking kickboxing, will be taking karate and more... I'm sure some people would be happy to judge based on looks, but nobody knows the real story behind things. I have always been active and healthy, but I also spent 7 months of pregnancy on bedrest, and had a c-section (my third). I'm sure not perfect now (baby just turned 5 months, 3 of that I was recovering from the surgery), and I bet there are people who would make assumptions about me too. I find the people who are quickest to judge based solely on looks are generally the one who aren't worth knowing anyways.

Saw this post earlier and thought it was another fatty competition and stay away.

I am 5?8? and weigh about 127 lbs. A good friend of mine had a crisis today and asked if I would intervene. I told her she could handle it and she replied I am fat they don?t take me seriously. I said, you just don?t stand up for yourself but, whatever, and give me the number.

Moral to my post, if you are comfortable with your weight it should not make a difference but if you have a problem with your weight do something about it.

Firstly, and this is not bashing (as I realise a minority of people can't help their obesity), being overweight is a problem for everyone (not just fat people). Some 50% of Americans are now reportedly overweight, and in nations such as Australia (in which the trend is following that of America, and we have a free health system) it is a huge epidemic. Shall we equally respect those people who vandalise public property and thus cause millions and billions of dollars worth of damage? No.

Similarly, overweight people who have the ability to loose weight are a burden to society as a whole, and not just themselves. You are obviously ignorant, and brainwashed though (that much is surely true), as you failed to cite the millions of self-hating Whites, yet bought attention to one man who went against the 'Black pride' motto and told it as he saw it. Perhaps there is not much hope for you though (as you seem both mentally and physically challenged), but to those people who have the ability to fix their physical condition, they really have little room to complain.

I am NOT overweight. I am 5'7" and swing between about 98 and 110 pounds. I have never been over 115. Yes, perhaps overweight folks are a burden on the healthcare system. But so are drug addicts and alcoholics and smokers. Maybe you bash them, too, but something that you have to realize is that food addiction is EXTREMELY difficult to get over. I know, because I have several overweight family members that have struggled with it for many years. AND, in many cases, food addiction starts in childhood as a result of family environment. I was brought up in such an environment and it's only by sheer luck that the addiction escaped me. Imagine having cocaine or alcohol or cigarettes shoved down you regularly as a reward from the time you were a child and THEN try to break that addiction now!

Again, in case you missed it the first two times, (and I'll say this slowly so perhaps you can understand) I.... am.... not.... fat... So calling me "mentally and physically challenged" is really telling as to what type of person you are.

I'm glad someone finally brought this point up...Addiction to food is extremely difficult to break, and not only for the reasons you listed but because a body needs food to survive. Its not like any other addiction out there....

An alcholic breaks their addiction by not drinking, drug users by not doing the drugs, and smokers by not smoking. And just how successful do you think their quit would be if every single day they had to ingest the substance they were addicted to in order to survive?

Food IS a part of your life from the beginning, and if in the beginning you are taught that is a cure all, a reward, and a drug that can work to stuff your feelings down before you are old enough to make conscious choices about what role food should play in your life it is extremely difficult to change that.

I would never say that it is impossible, or that it excuses any self destructive behavior once you get to a point where you recognize it for what it is, but I do definitely have to say that it is something I would not wish on anyone....EVER.

I, too, feel sorry for the people who are so high up on their pedestals of perfection that they have lost touch with human-ness, and feel justified in hurling insults and degrading those who they don't feel measure up. I learned a long time ago that you never ever know what it is like to stand in someone else's shoes until you are there, and I can only hope that if you ever get there you are met by someone who understands. God forbid any of the rude people on here ever end up with diabetes, or problems with their metabolism, or ever have to take a medication such as steroids or hormones that would make them gain an ounce over their ideal weight.

The other main industrial/emb/goth clubs here is called Perversion. Its been open for about 8 years now and is one of the longest running and largest industrial clubs in the world.

I would say the boy girl ratio at bunker is 60/40 and at perversion 50/50.

Southern california club scene is alot more rivet then goth.. at least at the places I attend.. heh.

lets see out here we have helter skelter(goth),vamp(old school goth),clockwork orange(80's) Velvet(cheesy shit) Dungeon(industrial Ebm/goth with fetish shows,ive actualy performed with my sub here) Perversion(industrial/emb/goth..same djs as dungeon but no shows) Blue mondays(80's) Empire(on hiatus,industrial/ebm,80's..used to be known as metro for about 7 years untill that venue closed.) And then there is Das Bunker( industrial/harsh ebm/noize)

This is definitly the place to go if your looking for a good club every night of the week except tues/wends. The only thing that sucks about most California clubs is that they close at 2 am. Das Bunker is open till 3 though.

And unlike alot of areas this scene is very friendly.

Hmm... I'm from the Netherlands myself, one of the worst places in the world to like industrial/goth/ebm/noise. We have about a dozen goth/industrial/ebm "clubs" in this country, but none of those are actually clubs... they're monthly events only visited by a few dozen teenybopper goths.
And there are no, and I do mean no, rivet women in this entire country. There are goths, but they're mostly just teen girls that like to put on velvet dresses and pretend they're witches.

The saddest part though is that the music is just about impossible to get here. Even in the most alternative record shops names like Covenant, Front Line Assembly, Funker Vogt, Wumpscut or even Apoptygma Berzerk, Front 242 or VNV Nation only get you blank stares. Trying to find stuff like Whitehouse or Sutcliffe Jugend is, ofcourse, an utterly hopeless effort :1orglaugh

Ah well, at least we have tons of clubs that are open til 6-8am. :glugglug

then why do people from different parts of the world have different views on what size and shape they find attractive. For example, I get a lot of attention from guys from Africa (there are a lof of Nigerians where I live) who tend to like the wider hips, etc. When I have asked a few of them why there is a higher concentration of BBW fans in their community they tell me about ideas of bigger women being more womanly, motherly, etc.

Yet, if you get a second, third generation person from the same family that was born in the UK they, in my experience, are less likely to be into BBWs and more likely to be into the sizes society 'tells' them to like.

I'm fat and I've dated overweight, athletic and thin men. I am PERSONALLY not physically attracted to thin men or overly athletic ones, but I've dated some whose personality I liked. And I've had great sex with them because I liked them - their body type meant nothing to me.

I have NO problem if someone isn't attracted to me for any reason. I have no problem if someone doesn't want to go out with me or sleep with me because they're not attracted to me. Unless we get to the point where he and I are the only ones on earth - THEN it could a problem! :)
