ferrari, save yourself the bs

KC 08-07-2004 03:01 AM

Quiet,

why choose? Buy both and build a bigger garage ;)

As long as you have the garage space, you might as well pick up a GT too.

MaDalton 08-07-2004 03:05 AM

Porsche - i'll never driver anything else again :thumbsup

Vitasoy 08-07-2004 04:00 AM

Ferrari's are more of a head turner, and you already habe a Porsche so...

Taboo 08-07-2004 04:01 AM

If this was a simple world, Ferrari. but for me, it's not.

After I sold my mainstream business and decided to enter this biz again, I also sold what I drove because I did not want attention from wrong people and bought a simple suv. lol. Because of the industry we're/I'm in now, I did not need any extra eyes pointed my way. If you drive an exotic you'll notice ppl following you, for various reasons, not always just to gawk. I know a cop in DC area that calls in to "check up" on every exotic he's sees and there are lots in Northern Virginia that party in DC. You'll notice it'll be hard to find a parking spot anywhere that you feel safe parking, and yet, when you return, you'll see some fucker parked right next to you. You'll see ppl stand next to or sit on (yes sit on) your car to take pix. When you go clubbing/out, you'll notice dents/scratches from haters, even though it was valeted safely. I use to know a valet that loved screwing girls in other ppl's cars. great idea for a porn site, huh? If you're doing it for sex, and I doubt it, then yeah it works but so does a nice pair of shoes and a smile. If you ARE doing it for pussy, when you want to filter out the golddiggers after leaving the club, walk up to the shittiest car you can find and see if she still wants you, if so, then walk over to your exotic. lol.

If you've got plenty of money and you do, then go for a new ferrari. don't buy someone else's headache. or put your money into ME412:
http://scoop.daimlerchrysler.com/concept_me412.shtml
not concept, prototype. if you're willing to wait 2 years. or go classy/exec and put money into a Maybach. or wait for the Zonda to come to US in 2005/6. you've obviously got the money. or do what I did, and put the money into domains before the million dollar price tags return industrywide. buy them cheap while they still are affordable. lol. This year, I spent over 3 but got more than my money's worth. Me.com went for 1/2 million. CreditCard/CreditCards.com just sold for nearly $3M a month ago and every wire service, tv network picked up the story and articles/reports are coming out in 30-45 days. so the days are coming back strong. buy them to build or buy them to flip. but they're not as much fun to drive. :2 cents:

the S2000 is a pure, raw sports car. The 350Z is not. not that this has anything to do with why you should buy one car vs the other (you can buy a civic and spend a couple K and the car will destroy most any exotic) but the S2000 is quicker to 60, and the quarter mile in ever review i've read. i can also pull up those links if you like... having said that, i think the 350Z is a great car.

Test drive a Lotus Elise or a Caterham Superlight and find out what a REAL pure, raw sports car is like :winkwink:

If you'd taken the time to investigate, they actually have a KICK ASS affiliate program ... one of my best sponsors, so ......

I'm either a big fan of Ferrari nor of Porsche.

Go for a SL65 - simply the best car you can buy for money.

People will SIT ON somebody elses car to take pictures?
wtf? How often does something like this happen?
And how often can a person expect to get scratches/dents from haters?

btw, very interesting post ;)

A Ferrari isn't always as fun once you drive it. Yeh the rush and exhilaration and roar are great, but beyond that sit behind the wheel and drive it for a while and it gets old fast and you realize its a lot of work to drive, service and really not that comfortable.

You also get non-stop people staring and gawking at you while you drive and when you are at stop lights.

That gets really annoying after a while and you want to say to them "What the fuck are you all staring at bitches!"

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

You are right about the comfort angle, I was toying with the idea of buying one earlier on this year. But it was like sitting on a park bench. The pedals were also too close together for my big feet:1orglaugh so there went that idea:winkwink:

Ross 08-07-2004 05:50 AM

The Ferrari looks awesome Quiet but the interior stinks.

To be honest tho, I doubt I'd turn down this car just for the interior.

justsexxx 08-07-2004 05:53 AM

What about a lambo?

BTW as far as reliability, I would go for the Porsche.

Andre

Minte 08-07-2004 06:09 AM

The turbo cab is probably the perfect car.But if you've never owned an F-car..you should probably give one a go.The F-car's of this generation aren't plagued with the problems of the older ones.Just be aware that the f-car services are costly. In some cities the 30k service will set you back nearly 8g.

thanks. and yes it happens alot with exotics and supercars. especially out clubbing. ppl lean against it and pretend it's their car while their friend takes a pic or they take their own. nowadays more than ever because of phonecams. i've seen ppl jump in convertibles real quick to snap a pic and jump out. in fact, i've seen ppl pissing in gas tanks while taking pic. lol. drunk sickos. great cars for driving around but don't leave them alone too long or you'll end up with it bumper stickered or keyed. My friend had a new S500 that got keyed HARD & DEEP right along driver side... not funny at all... but it happened while he was shopping at the dollar store... so i guess it is funny. :1orglaugh

Taboo 08-07-2004 06:19 AM

I forgot to mention that the bumper stickered exotic I saw read "OWN3D" lol. and i know the owner did not put it there because it was real lopsided and on the driver's door. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some crazy website out there that puts OWN3D on ppl's cars and takes pix. $250,000 exotic owned by a 25 cent sticker. lol.

You are right, a hell of a lot more fun to drive: http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...0/74238610.htm

Maybe a bit spartan though. Perhaps http://www.fast-autos.net/features/aero8/ would be the best of both worlds. "...driving down Wilshire Boulevard in the middle of Beverly Hills. I begin to realize that this car attracts a lot of attention". And if someone really wants to spend $300K there is always the racing version.

damn, I wish I could ever consider buying a ferrari

cheers quiet :glugglug

Paul90 08-07-2004 06:46 AM

The Ferrari's are great cars...BUT
I had a nail in the tire of my 98 355 Spyder and after it was all said and done...3K...

They had to replace BOTH front tires..to the tune of 900 each...fix a belt...and a few other little tweaks....

So if you are ready to not only roll out the big bucks to buy it...be ready to MAINTAIN it!

if you want to be noticed..the porsche is no match for the Ferrari....period.

but there are a LOT of cars i would rather spend the bucks on.....

Pipecrew 08-07-2004 07:07 AM

If you buy a used ferrari you will be ridiculed, there is this whole secret society, and one of the things is not ever buying a used ferrari, get yourself on the waiting list, dont buy used, even though they are way nicer then the porsche.

Mine is triple black and has a WHOPPING 7500 mile on it now!

If you really need to ask that question, then you don't deserve the Ferrari ......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eadweb 08-07-2004 11:48 AM

Get the Porsche. If you really want a ferrari get a 12 cyl. model. Nothing like that ripping canvas sound bouncing off the canyon walls.

Methodcash Rick 08-07-2004 11:59 AM

I drive a 02 Porsche 911 C4 cabriolet as my daily driver, and have an older Ferrari 512 TR that I drive for fun..

If I had to chose between the two, I'd keep the Porsche, and dump the Ferrari...

Maintenance is a bitch, tune-ups every 3k miles, and major after 7500..

It EATS tires, which aren't cheap, but it is a fun car to drive...

Stick with the Porsche
