What extent do you go to avoid clicking on a affiliate link?

Myself I have a habit of hovering over hyperlink and checking if its affiliated, then I will manually type the url in and go direct.
This is wrong and I am gonna change my habit!

Who goes as far as the source code to snoop for a url

Same here... I don't know why.

Perhaps it's because I'm partially greedy, and don't want to make other people money.

I always use the affiliate links. My thinking is these people are promoting the sites and gave me the idea to do so...so they should be rewarded. I also think that I would want people to do the same for me and it is not like it is going to cost me anything...and referral income is nice to have.

Most of us rely on people clicking affiliate links, so when I come across one...I usually use it.

Whether webmasters admit it or not, this is how the majority think. I'd say 75%+ of webmasters type in urls as to not give any other webmasters referral credit. (At least when the referring webmaster is a stranger to them.)

I usually ask someone on ICQ for a ref link code but as far as using one from someone I don't know, I type it. I also keep track of sales with the person who referred me to check the integrity of the system.

give credit where credit is due. most people dont do this but a webmaster is usually very jaded and very competitive and would rather go around it than help somebody out.

This is my thoughts exactly, and as pointed out by SomeCreep I was of the same opinion regarding webmaster links and denying them of cut.

As we know this is how the industry goes around, and what's strange is that when I check my stats I always look to see if any webmasters have jumped onto my food chain.

I have just convinced myself as mentioned to reward the person and start using affiliated links.

What usually works is, instead of using the ref code directly, write a script that accepts a parameter and based on that, redirects to the sponsor

Most of the time people will be too lazy to close the page and re-enter the URL.

But for myself, I usually use ref code of friends, people that I like, or if its something that I wouldn't have stumbled upon by myself

Click on my sig, it is just making money for the owner and you.

And don't be so greedy...one day you just might get an email from a sponsor that the person you sign-up under wants to thank you by rewarding with a gift.

I used to do that, but now... I'm more into giving credit where credit is due. If I've never seen something and someone is flying a sig, or sponsor that I like I make it a point to go through their link so they get credit/andor comissions....

Oh yeah... see sig... LMAO

The money has to come from some where but that does not mean it comes from you. The sponsor is where the extra money goes that you are "saving". I like to use friends links as why not give a friend a cut and not give it to the sponsor?

I would almost always click a link if was coded in way it would show other text in the status bar rather than the link details.

Curiosity here, what is the code they use to do that?

If you are looking for a new reality sponsor and i recommend you some sponsor with my ref code...and you decide to use them with bypassing my ref code..then what's the point?

You will not make me any money, but you will make more money that sponsor and do you think that willl casue that they will increase your payouts in future or what...?

If the sponsor pays $30 per sale and 5% referrale earnings, then when you make 2 sales daily with them, it means i will earn $90 per month "of you". I think it is quite fair that i get rewarded... By telling you the sponsors' name i make them more saturated, so the extra $90 per month for me sounds fair

I usually click the affiliate link. Makes no difference to me. Only time I don't is if it's some asshole I don't like. If I don't like him/her, I'm certainly not going to contribute to their income. In that case, I manually type in the url.
