On a serious note...I understand why they do this, however I don't think this is the solution...in fact I think it can create more issues.
How often is this database updated? How accurate is it? In Dallas a mentally challenged man moved into a home that was once the residence of a sex offender...guess what? Some dumb ass hill billies came a callin'. Put a beating on a retarded man they thought was a sex offender. Also a newly released offender gets harassed is forced to move time and time again...you corner a man by removing all options such as employement, place to live and ythat may play a big part in him offending again...and this time it may not be just touching some kid but could be worse. |
